An experimental plant for sorting tests has been put into operation in Lakefield Ontario. It is installed on the industrial complex of SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company.

Prospective customers have the opportunity to submit materials containing ore to test their sorting suitability. CommodasUltrasort, the specialist of mineral detection in combination with Terra Vision, an enterprise providing complete plant solutions for the sorting process, amassed resources of expertise are at the disposal of customers.

Batches of around 100 kg are sufficient for an analysis. Particle sizes of 1 to 3 inches are optimal. The testing plant works on an optical basis with 2 cameras and is designed to withstand the tough requirements of the mining industry. Terra Vision's expertise is founded on the optimal adjustment of the hard- and software modules developed by CommodasUltrasort, and extends to the design of complete plants.

After completion of testing, the customer receives a "rock-solid" and independent test report from SGS as a decision basis for an investment. Meanwhile, if desired, chemical analyses are carried out on the samples in the SGS laboratory. This opens the way to an immediate and unambiguous interpretation of the results.
